Soil, Aggregate, and Stone Tests

An Engineering Decision Begins with Accurate Results
We transform test results into clear indicators that support design and execution, and ensure the quality of materials used in the project.

From the Ground Begins The Quality of Every Project
The Soil, Aggregate & Rock Testing Department at ProLab provides an integrated system for evaluating the physical and mechanical properties of materials, verifying their quality, and ensuring compliance with technical specifications before and during execution.
Accurate results, clear technical reports, and engineering recommendations that help you select the appropriate materials and reduce the risks of settlement, cracking, and poor performance.
Scope of Soil and Aggregate Testing Services
Field Density Test
Measuring the compaction ratio of soil and backfill layers on site using electronic devices (EDG) or the Sand Cone method to ensure their load-bearing capacity.
Plate Load Test
A test used to measure soil bearing capacity and determine the settlement performance parameters for building foundations and pavement layers.
Classification & Physical Properties Tests
Conducting grain size distribution analysis (Sieve Analysis), Atterberg Limits, and soil swelling and collapse tests to determine its suitability for construction use.
Proctor & CBR Test
Determining the maximum dry density and optimum moisture content, along with the California Bearing Ratio (CBR) test to evaluate subgrade and pavement layers.
Sand Equivalent Test
Determining the percentage of fine materials and clay impurities present in aggregates and soil to verify their suitability for use in concrete, asphalt, and road base layers.
Aggregate & Rock Quality
Measuring abrasion resistance through the Los Angeles Abrasion Test, as well as conducting soundness, specific gravity, and absorption tests to verify the suitability of aggregates for concrete and asphalt applications.
Chemical Analysis
Determining the concentration of salts (sulfates and chlorides), organic matter content, and pH level, and evaluating their chemical impact to determine the suitability of soil or aggregates for construction use.
Unconfined Compressive Strength for Rock
Evaluating the compressive strength of rock core samples extracted from the site to determine the bearing capacity of rock foundations.
Water & Agricultural Soil Testing
Conducting a comprehensive range of approved technical analyses to evaluate soil quality and irrigation water, determine their suitability for agriculture, and identify the appropriate types of crops.
