Geotechnical Studies & Soil Investigations

Understand the Ground Conditions Before Construction Begins

At ProLab, we provide soil testing and evaluation services to verify the site's suitability for construction and deliver accurate data to design engineers, ensuring the safety and stability of structures.

Integrated geotechnical studies including site investigations, sampling, and field and laboratory testing to determine soil bearing capacity, groundwater level, and settlement risks, supporting the selection of the appropriate foundation system

Scope of Geotechnical Studies and Soil Testing Services

01

Soil Boring & Drilling

Collecting soil samples from different depths below ground level to determine soil layer sequence, identify groundwater level depth, and define the most suitable foundation system for construction.

02

Field Soil Testing

The necessary field tests are conducted to measure the efficiency and strength of soil layers, including:Standard Penetration Test (SPT). Cone Penetration Test (CPT). Pressuremeter Test. Vane Shear Test. Soil Shear Strength Test. Dilatometer Test. Soil Permeability Test. Rock Point Load Strength Index Test. Determination of Soil Dry Unit Weight.

03

Laboratory Soil Testing

Conducting the required laboratory tests on soil samples collected from the site to determine soil classification, assess swelling and settlement potential, and verify its suitability for safe building foundations. The tests include:Soil classification according to the Unified Soil Classification System (USCS) and AASHTO Soil Classification System. Determination of natural moisture content. Atterberg Limits determination (Liquid Limit and Plastic Limit). Determination of soil dry unit weight. Expansive and collapsible soil tests. California Bearing Ratio (CBR) test. Sand Equivalent Test. Direct Shear Test. Unconfined Compression Test. Triaxial Compression Test. Soil Permeability Test. Chemical Analysis Tests.

04

Geotechnical Report

Preparing a comprehensive and integrated engineering report covering all field and laboratory test results, providing the structural engineer with final recommendations regarding the suitable foundation type, foundation level, and soil treatment methods if required.
